Restaurants Near the NY NOW International Gift Fair – August 15 – 19, 2015
With more than 35,000 people attending last year’s New York International Gift Fair (renamed NY NOW Market for Home & Lifestyle), you can be sure that while the event was going on at some point everyone got hungry.
Because of its massive size, the Jacob Javits Convention Center is like an island unto itself. The time it would take to leave and get back into the building for a quick lunch is no where near the value of the time taken away from the main reason you are at the show, to market YOU! Most people just grab a quick bite from the cafeteria’s and kiosks and say “Oh I’ll just eat later…”
Guess what, Now It’s Later!!
It’s the end of the day and your mentally and physically exhausted after a full day of networking your
butt off!! How are you going to recharge your batteries to do it all again tomorrow?
Tip to consider, try a relaxing stroll on up to Restaurant Row.
Only a 15 minute walk from the Javits Center, Restaurant Row is the familiar name used for West 46th Street between Eighth and Ninth Avenues in the Theater District of Manhattan. This amazing street is recognized globally for its wide variety of almost 40 different World class restaurants. The entire block is always alive, packed and buzzing with different people and different dialects. It is truly one of the coolest areas to just sit down, unwind and enjoy a great relaxing dining experience. American, Arabic, Asian, Brazilian, Greek, French, Italian, Indian, Spanish and more. It’s all there just waiting for you. Dine quietly or enjoy some first-rate entertainment as well. From solo guitarists, to full house bands, Restaurant Row has got you covered.
Two hot spots that always get rave reviews are Swing 46 and Don’t Tell Mama. Swing 46 (49 West 46th Street) not only serves delicious food, but the dance floor gets really kicking in the evening when people from all over the world practice and perform their swing dance moves for your entertainment. Don’t Tell Mama (343 West 46th Street) is a NYC Entertainment Land Mark and and the most authentic piano bar you could ever ask for. Always packed, they stay open late into the night. With top rated performers and frequent A list superstar guests, eat your fill and enjoy some real talent. With their talented singing staff of bartenders and waiters, one minute you’ll find yourself laughing, cheering and singing with the crowd while the next you might have a tear in your eye stirred by Broadway performers.
The doors to NY NOW close in the evening at 6 or 7 PM depending on the day. With a just little bit of planning and maybe a reservation made in advance, you’re just a quick stroll from this awesome NYC destination. Now you can relax, reminisce and review about all the connections you made during your day while you’re enjoying your dinner.
Now the only question is; Tilapia with Shrimp, Veal Picatta or Chicken Stuffed with Artichoke Hearts.
